Alice Sara Ott performs Grieg’s Piano Concerto with the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy at the Royal Festival Hall on 20 October. The concert marks Ott’s first return to the venue since her recital debut there last season, as part of the International Piano Series.
The programme also features Ashkenazy conducting Holst’s The Planets, and opens with Delius’ A Walk to the Paradise Gardens.
Ott has recently returned from Japan, from a successful tour with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France conducted by Myung-Whun Chung. Later this season, she performs with Washington’s National Symphony Orchestra and Neeme Järvi, and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe under Thomas Dausgaard, and tours with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Hannu Lintu, and with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and Vasily Petrenko.
