Nightfall recitals throughout Europe

Nightfall recitals in six countries

Over the coming months, Alice travels to Germany, France, Austria, Denmark, Belgium and the United Kingdom, continuing her recital tour of Nightfall. Released in August 2018, Nightfall features music by Debussy, Satie and Ravel, whose music made an indelible impression on the Parisian arts scene at the turn of the 20th century. The album is a particularly personal artistic project for Alice, documenting the intensity of her musical encounters with these French three composers. She takes a very personal look at the magical moment in time and space between day and night, light and darkness, shining a light on her personal fascination with the psychological contradictions that mark each and every one of us.

The European Nightfall recital tour kicks off in December 2018, with recitals in Liederhalle, Stuttgart (7 December) and La Seine Musicale, Paris (8 December), followed by performances at Wiener Konzerthaus, Vienna (12 January), Prinzregententheater, Munich (15 January), Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Copenhagen (17 January), Festspielhaus Baden-Baden (19 January), as well as at the Flagey Piano Days 2019 in Brussels (09 February) and Klavier-Festival Ruhr in Duisberg (16 May).

Alice rounds off the Nightfall tour in the UK: Birmingham’s Symphony Hall on 27 June and London’s Wigmore Hall on 28 June.

More information about Nightfall

“beguiling and beautiful playing”
“Ravel’s notoriously tricky ‘Gaspard de la nuit’ conjures mysterious images…and Ott here responds with colour and flair, pacing the tension of ‘Le Gibet’ and its haunting bell-like tones with particular finesse. The disc closes with a stately performance of Ravel’s ‘Pavane pour une infante défunte’ to complete this imaginative and evocative celebration of twilight.””
BBC Music Magazine

“A highly recommended outing from a promising rising star.”
